Selection Guide
Hair Length
Choose a hair length that gives your stylist enough room to trim and style. It's always better to go slightly longer — you can cut, but you can't add.
Men's Hair Systems
The most common hair length for men's systems is 5”–6”. This gives stylists plenty of flexibility to create classic short styles, textured crops, and side-parted looks.
For longer styles (slicked-back, pompadour), consider 7”–8”. Always order slightly longer than the desired finished length to allow for trimming.
Women's Hair Systems
Women's hair length needs vary widely. Common lengths range from 12” to 24” depending on the desired style.
Petite frames suit 12”–18” for a balanced proportion. Taller frames can carry 20”–24” beautifully. Always account for curl shrinkage when selecting length.
Base Thickness & Maximum Length
The thickness of the base material affects how long the hair can be. Thinner bases are lighter and more natural but have length limitations.
| Base Thickness | Maximum Hair Length |
|---|---|
| 0.03mm (ultra-thin skin) | 10 inches (25 cm) |
| 0.06mm (thin skin) | 16 inches (40 cm) |
| 0.08mm+ / Lace / Mono | No practical limit |
Important Tips
Order Longer for Waves
Go 2 inches longer than your desired finished length for wavy styles. The wave pattern causes the hair to appear shorter than the actual measurement.
Order Longer for Curls
Go 4 inches longer for curly styles. Curls create significant shrinkage — a 10-inch curl may only appear 6 inches long when styled.
Easy to Trim
Always choose a length that gives your stylist room to cut and shape the final look. Hair can be trimmed shorter but cannot be made longer.
Base Thickness Matters
Ultra-thin skin bases (0.03mm) support a maximum of 10” hair length. Thicker bases (0.06mm+) can support 16” or longer.
